Dr Anna Willard is an experienced Neurologist who has undertaken her specialist training in leading Australian Hospitals. She commenced her Neurology specialty training at The Canberra Hospital and Calvary Hospital in ACT, and completed it at Concord Repatriation and General Hospital and  Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in NSW.  Dr Willard is available for consultations relating to a range of neurological disorders, including but not limited to epilepsy management, management of headache and functional neurological disorders.

EPILEPSY MANAGEMENT

Dr Willard is a qualified Epileptologist having completed an Epilepsy Fellowship at The Alfred Hospital & Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Willard's epilepsy focus includes the diagnosis and management of first seizures, ongoing assessment and long term management of chronic epilepsy and advanced therapies for epilepsy – as well as assessment for advanced epilepsy therapies - including SEEG (Stereo electro encephelogram), surgery and vagal nerve stimulation.

 MANAGEMENT OF HEADACHE & FUNCTIONAL NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS

Dr Willard also holds a special interest in headache, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures and functional neurological disorders. She has extensive experience in the management of headache and migraines having completed the International Headache Society Headache Master School.

ACADEMIC INTERESTS

Dr Willard has pursued an active academic career along with her clinical practice. 

Dr Willard is an associate investigator in multiple medical trials focusing on the management of newly-diagnosed and drug-refractory epilepsy. She is involved in teaching of physician trainees and neurology trainees most recently as part of National Brain School.  She is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, The Epilepsy Society of Australia and Australia New Zealand Headache Society.

Dr Willard is a Canberra local who speaks fluent English and Russian, conversational Mandarin Chinese and Polish. She is an intrepid traveller, amateur photographer, swimmer and enjoys walking the many walking tracks in the bush capital.
